Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4: 16)

Divine help is the help that comes from God. God always gives helping hands to His people whenever they are in need. He instructed us to pray (i.e. ask, let Him know what we need) in the book of Matthew 7:7 which says “ Ask and ye shall receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be open unto you” God never wants His people to complain about their needs, but instead through pray and supplication with thanksgiving make their request know unto Him.

The people of Israel were in the wilderness of Saini, and they needed some basic necessities of life such as food; they complain to Moses about their need. Moses was feld up with their complain and God was angry with their attitude. The solution to their needs did not come until Moses pray unto God. God told Moses to let the children of the Israelites to know what He had decided to do. There will be flesh for them to eat at even and a bread to eat in the morning. And God field the whole Israelites with quail and bread (manna from God) for forty years.

What brought down the mama from heaven; The Israelites complain or Moses’ Prayer?

One might argue that it’s because  the Israelites complained that makes Moses to pray; had they had not complain Moses won’t have pray. And the manna wouldn’t have come down from heaven. God is always happy to see that we seek Him concerning our needs. For He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. But the motives/approaches we used matter a lot. When the Israelites complain, the solution did not come but until Moses prayed. God will always answer His children when they use the right approach in seeking His face concerning their needs.

The Bible reveal that it’s when we ask, we received, when we seek, we find and when we knock, the door will be open and not when we complain. If earthly fathers know how to give good things to their children how much more will God the Father (the Fathers of all fathers) give good things to everyone that ask Him. He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Phi. 4:4). In Hebrews 4: 15 -16 the Bible says “  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet he did not sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need”

The above scripture reveal a deep secret that every believer need to understand. When we approach God with our needs we are to ask with confidence, believing He is able to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. The throne of grace here means God’s presence, in God’s presence we encourage to make our request with confidence and not to complain.
