THE CHRISTIAN ATTRIBUTE 2

 "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue; whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; to your virtue knowledge; to your knowledge temperance; and to your temperance patience; and to your patience godliness; and to your godliness brotherly kindness and to your brotherly kindness charity. For if these be in you and abound in you, ...........................  11Peter 1: 2- 10

To your temperance patience....

Patience: A forest is not made in a day, it takes several years for trees in a particular geographical area to become a forest. To become spiritually mature takes time, what God expected of us is to be growing spiritually on a daily basis by studying the word of God. Any time you study the word, you add value to your spiritual life.  

Godliness: godliness simply means living the God kind of life. It means a regenerated soul that have been transformed from  Adamic nature to the nature of God. Adding godliness to your christian faith enable you to overcome sin and self because through the help of the Holy Spirit, you will  be transformed gradually from Adamic nature to the nature of God.

Brotherly Kindness: This simply means be kind to those around you, helping people to meet their needs and praying for their spiritual well-being and personal relationship with God.

Charity: This reflect God true nature. God is love, wherever love is, there God is. Love is the bond of perfection, which implies showcasing the true nature of God on earth. Love is best describe it the scripture below;

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.....  1 Corinthians 13:4-7" the Bilble says if these attribute are found in you, you will become a fruitful child of God, full of the nature of God.

From the scripture above, we have 7 godly attributes that will make your christian life fruitful and blissful. let take them one after the other.

Virtue: This refer to the level of the power of God operating in your life. It is also refer to the level of anointing at work in your life as a child of God. When the woman with issue of blood touched Jesus the bible recorded that virtue left Jesus that simply means the healing anointing left for that same purposes. The other meaning of virtue is your character.  Every gift God gives to you require a special virtue (character). This what the bible says we should add to our faith. Virtue enable us to know the purpose of the power of God operating in your lives.

Knowledge: Apostle Paul said in Phil. 3:10 " That i might know him and the power of his resurrection ......" for you to be able to do exploit for God you need to have a good knowledge of the gift of God operating in your life. The more you know God and having a good knowledge of the the gift He had deposits in your life, the better your relationship with him. No man can serve God more than the way he sees him. Adding  knowledge to your virtue create a better relationship with God. 

Temperance: Temperance refers to how you relate to others inside and outside the church, it helps you to control your feelings and teaches how to overcome self.

The authority of the believer

BEHOLD  I GIVE UNTO YOU POWER TO TREAD ON ................... (Texts: Luke 10:19)

Others scriptures: Matt. 28:18, Eph. 6:12

The word Power in Luke 10: 19 originally from the Greek word means authority. In the above scripture Jesus is telling the church that he had delegated His power to the church. In Matt. 28: 18 " Jesus said all power had be given to be in heaven and on earth" this power was delegated to the church in Luke 10: 19 to exercise over serpents and scorpions. Serpents and Scorpions are revealed in Eph. 6:12 " Principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places" and the bible recorded that nothing shall by any means hurt you.   

In Matt. 16:19 " And will give unto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.............." The reason why Christ delegated this authority  to the church is found in  Matt. 16: 19 which says " whatsoever thou shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven!

This simply means whatsoever you  permit on earth will be permitted in heaven and whatsoever you reject on earth as a believer will be rejected in heaven. 

To be able to exercise this authority you must be  in Christ i.e. must be born again.  "Jesus said I'm the vine and you are the branches, Abide in me, and I in you, as the branch cannot bear fruits of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abide in me, and I in him, the same bear mush fruits; for  without me you can do nothing........ John 15: 4-5"

Prayer

By the resurrection power let the life in the vine flows into my life in Jesus' name Amen!

HEARING FROM GOD

 

Day in Day out, man heart ( mind) is fill with so many voices in the form of thought , constant noise- voices from every side; influencing the way we think and feel. But, in the midst of it all, there is one voice we need to hear the most- the voice of God. In ( 1Samuel 3: 1-8)The voice of God looks strange to Samuel because he had not recognized the voice of God. God speaks to people on daily basis but so many individuals fails to recognize God's voice. God had promised to lead His children by His Spirit and enable them to know His voice. That means you can learn to know exactly what the Spirit of God is saying to you about every situation.

Question: How can i learn to hear from God?

Have you ever tried to watch television or listen to the radio without turning it on? Of course No! You already know that if you don't that if you don't turn on the receiver, you're not going to hear anything. In the same way, you can not hear from God if you are not prepare to hear from Him.

 Prepare to hear from God. ( Samuel 3: 9-15)

Not until Samuel was prepared to hear from God, God did not speak nor reveal any thing to him. Below are the various ways we can prepare to hear from God.

Recognize the receiver (Jeremiah 29:13) The receiver hear is the Holy Spirit. We can not hear from without the help of the Holy Spirit. ( 1 Corinthians 2: 11- 12). God doesn't communicate with us the way we communicate with one another. He communicates from His spirit to your spirit, and your spirit communicates what you hear to your mind. That is what we call an inward witness. " the more time you spend with the Lord and the more you practice turning in to His voice, the more it will become a voice that thunders in marvelous ways"

Find His Frequency (John 10: 4) . The way God speaks to Mr. A. might be different from the way He reveal Himself to Mr. B. God might decide to speaks to Mr. A through dreams, to Mr. B through open vision and Mr. C through the word , or the prophet etc.

·                     Learn to discern His voice ( John 10: 27) . if your father calls you on the telephone, you don't need anyone to tell you, it is your dad, before you know he's the one calling. This is because you have spent so much time with him and you have become well-known to the way he speaks, hence, you easily recognize his voice . The same is true when it comes to hearing from God. If you want to build up yourself spiritually to a point where you can hear from God frequently, without doubting his voice, you have to draw closer to Him through studying the word, prayer and regular quiet time.

·                     Line it up with His word ( the Bible) (2 Timothy 3:16). one sure way to know if you are hearing God's voice is to line it up what you hear with the word of God. God will never tell you to do , or think or say anything contrary to His word.

The importance of hearing from God. ( 1 Kings 19: 7-19) . Elijah was able to know the next kings of Judah and Israel and who will take over from him as the prophet because he recognised the voice of God. God can reveal so many things to us, if we pay more at tension when he's speaking to us.

THE FALL OF MAN

TEXT GENESIS 2: 16 - 17. 3:1-17

The fall of man was as a result of the sin of disobedient. God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and the loss fellowship with God. Man was now far away from God, He could nor approached God as usual, and finally he was driven from the garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:8).

sin did not originated when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Sin have been in the world i.e. in existence before the First man Adam was created. Sin came into existence the day Lucifer , an Arch Angel, a Cherub rebel against God. Sin originated from the fall of Lucifer.

Eternity past, when time have not been in existence, Lucifer was  a perfect being, an Holy Angel, perfect in everything in the sight of God until the day he rebel against God. "

"Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden,the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you:  carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold;  on the day you were created they were prepared. You were anointed as a guardian cherub,  for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. Through your widespread trade
    you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom  because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.  By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you,  and it consumed you,
and I reduced you to ashes on the ground  in the sight of all who were watching. (Ezekiel 28:12-18)" . The above scriptures revealed that Lucifer was perfect in all He does until iniquity was found in sin, Lucifer wanted all other angels to worship him they way the worship God.

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. (Ezekiel 28:12-15). God was angry with Lucifer and  cast him down to hell. when God created Adam he gave him dominion over everything He had created, i.e. things that exist on earth. Lucifer was not happy about this, He does not want man to rule over him so came with the his own plan to deceived Adam and Adam fell and the dominion was transfer to him as the result of Adam sin?

THE NEED FOR GRACE

God love man so much that He had to make way for man to be reconciled back to him. God decided to send a second Adam (Jesus) to be a mediator, a saviour who had to died for the sin of man to reconciled man back to God. In John 14: 6  the bible review that Jesus is the only through which man can be reconciled back to God to enjoy having fellowship with God.

PRAYER: Oh God let the purpose of the cross be accomplish in my life in Jesus' name. Amen!.
